Ok, so the South Beach Diet thing did not work for me at all. I am definitely way too attached to my carbs. Diets in general make me unhappy. So my next attempt at the whole weight loss thing is.... (drum roll please), Aerobics! I bought this video on Ebay that has all different kinds of workouts on there and I thought it would be really fun. But alas, I realized shortly into the first workout today, that I am the most uncoordinated person on the universe when it comes to these sort of things. I never took dance or gymnastics or anything, I was always too busy playing soccer. I am still going to just bounce around in front of the TV (no doubt looking ridiculous) because it is fun and runnning on the treadmill is just sooo boring. Well, I am off to buy one of those step thingies and get down in my living room. Wish me luck and hopefully I won't trip over my own two feet and end up hurt :).

Give it time and you will soon learn the moves.:) It usually takes me a couple of times before I get the hang of it. I can't follow a diet to save my life. I try to eat right but it's easier said than done while in school.
ReplyDeleteHave you thought abot going to the gym at your school? I went the other day and its very motivating to be there with such variety of work out options.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the no carb diets. I can't do it.
Pixie- I think I am already starting to get it a little bit, one of the routines was too hard, but the other two have been pretty good.
ReplyDeleteEd- I wish I could play soccer everyday and just exercice that way, but once a week isn't enough.
Aisha- We have a really nice gym, but I just never want to leave the house and go there, I am really a home body, lol. Yep no carb diets suck!
The diet that works for me is one I made up myself...or, rather, my grandmother made it up for herself, and I copied her: Eat as many vegetables, especially dark leafy greens and things like broccali and brussel sprouts as you can possibly eat...then you will not crave "so many" other things that are making you gain weight! I can eat a candy bar every day and still lose about three pounds a month if I eat lots of vegetables every day.
ReplyDeleteFor desperste times though, the Slim-fast diet works for me. The diet instructions are on the sides of the boxes the bars come in.
Good Luck.
Also, walking very fast, outside, down the street or in a park is a big improvement over a treadmill.
carbs are very important to the body... i've been reading a book on nutrition (to plan little dude's solid food adventure) and i didn't realize before but on the food pyramid we are actually supposed to eat a lot of carbs and less of the other stuff... good news for us lovers of carbs eh? :-)
ReplyDeleteoh, and have fun with the aerobics. I've thought of trying it out but yeah, uncoordinated. I'm more of a yogi. ;-)
ReplyDeletei second ed....u look so thin in the pics in the group! my goodness what do u want to lose????????????? but have fun with the aerobics. i really love doing aerobics!!! so much fun!!! ahem now ur reminding me i have to lose about 15 lbs :O!!!
ReplyDeleteWayfarer- One of my discs is for pilates. I think that is kind of like yoga on steriods? I don't know cuz I haven't done it yet.
ReplyDeleteRabia- Aww, thanks for the compliments :). Those pics are kind of old (3 yrs), so... BTW, in your pics you don't look like you need to lose much either!
well, i have seen you, like last week and i can testify that you really don't need to lose weight but i know how it is. People think i look fine at my weight right now but i don't feel it. We each have our own standards for ourselves.
ReplyDeletePilates rock! Yeah, yoga on steroids lol.
